Dermatherapy is used to increase the passage of the topical products for different indications on the skin, by using them in combination with Dermaroller. Dermaroller used in dermatherapy consists of extremely fine steel needles lined up on a cylindrical drum. When dermaroller is applied on the skin, it forms 250-400 microchannels in 1 cm2. The microchannels opened by the needles of the dermaroller are perceived as a wound by the skin, although they do not actually look like wounds. Despite the fact that the microchannels disappear within 15 minutes without leaving any scars, the wound healing mechanism of the skin is triggered.
During this repair process, the production of substances such as collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin fibrils is increased in the skin, especially due to the growth factors. However, since there are no actual wounds to be repaired in the environment, these materials lead to the anti-aging effects on the skin, supporting the elimination of fine lines and wrinkles. The wound repair mechanism starts immediately after the occurrence of the injury and may last up to 2 years. Generally, the outcomes become significantly visible in 2 months. In addition, the application of the topical product (serum containing stem cells and growth factors) through the channels opened by the dermaroller directly reaches the tissue to be affected (as the transdermal passage is increased 200 times), thereby increasing the effectiveness in the tissue.
