What is Dermamelan-Cosmelan?
It is a kind of enzyme peeling that suppresses the formation of spots by reducing the amount of melanin in the skin, especially effective in the treatment of spots caused by melasma and sun exposure.

How does Dermamelan-Cosmelan work?
It is used in the treatment of spots by lightening the skin (depigmentation). It causes the suppression of an enzyme called tyrosinase, which plays an active role in the mechanism that causes the skin color to turn into a dark color in certain areas. As a result of the suppression of this enzyme, the formation of melanin in the skin decreases and the darkened parts of the skin lighten and effective treatment of the spots caused by it is provided.

How is Dermamelan-Cosmelan applied?
There are two products in the package that is opened personally, namely mask and continuation cream. The entire mask is applied to the entire skin at once by the attending physician. At the end of the period determined by your doctor and sent to you (average 8-12 hours), the mask waiting on the skin is rinsed by the patient with warm water at home. The second stage is the maintenance program. Within the scope of this program, the continuation cream is applied daily over the area where the first treatment was performed. Regular daily use of the cream is absolutely necessary to get the best results in spot treatment.

When is the effect of Dermamelan-Cosmelan noticed?
The spots are opened 1 week after the treatment is started. The darker the skin color, the longer it takes for the spots to disappear completely. 2-3 weeks after application, the skin looks much brighter and healthier. In the vast majority of patients, dark spots disappear completely in 4-6 weeks.

What changes does the skin have during treatment?
The skin turns a little red and looks like sunburn.
In those with very sensitive skin, some itching may be felt within 48 hours after application.
It is normal and a part of the process to cause some burning and tightness on the skin.
After 48 hours, the symptoms disappear completely. Redness and flaking disappear in a short time and the skin will have a normal healthy appearance.
